Kaba Methu

Nyandarua Senator John Methu has once again ignited a fierce political debate after launching a blistering attack against Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen over the rising cases of violence and alleged goonism witnessed during political activities across the country.

Speaking during a televised political discussion, Methu claimed that the Interior Ministry had failed to contain lawlessness, arguing that the increasing incidents had raised serious questions about leadership and accountability.

In his hard-hitting remarks, the outspoken senator alleged that Murkomen bears the greatest political responsibility for what he described as the growing culture of organised goonism.

Methu further argued that the situation had deteriorated significantly under the current leadership of the Interior Ministry, contrasting it with the period when Deputy President Kithure Kindiki previously held the same docket.

His comments immediately injected fresh energy into the already heated national conversation surrounding security, political intolerance, and the protection of democratic space ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The explosive statement quickly spread across social media, attracting sharp reactions from Kenyans divided along political lines. While some users applauded Methu for boldly confronting what they believe are pressing security concerns, others dismissed his remarks as politically charged and accused him of seeking publicity through confrontational politics.

Several critics also challenged his political maturity, insisting that he should focus on development issues instead of engaging in personal attacks against senior government officials.

As political temperatures continue to rise across the country, Methu’s latest remarks are expected to fuel even more intense debates over leadership, public security, and the direction of Kenya’s political landscape.

Whether his criticism will trigger meaningful accountability or deepen the already widening political divisions remains a question that continues to dominate national discourse.
