President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s eldest daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire has come out swinging against con artists using her name to trick Ugandans.
She made it crystal clear that she runs zero Facebook accounts and has nothing to do with any loans or foundations promising quick cash.
The whole thing blew up yesterday when she posted a bunch of posts on X using her name to scam money out of people.
Natasha made it her final warning that she does not transact online at all and pointed straight at the fake accounts already flagged and reported.
In the same post, she shared a screenshot of one dodgy advert; a fake poster claimed her foundation teamed up with MTN to dish out loans and transform lives. It even used her smiling photo.
Such fake posters have been scammed. People looking for help, who see it as promises of money and financial gains.
Natasha Museveni Karugire serves as a senior advisor, and as the first daughter, she is definitely one of the people scammers can target, as she is highly influential in the country.
This is not the first time that she is addressing such scandals, as scammers have targeted her name before.
Earlier this month, police picked up several suspects for using the same tricks. They created fake TikTok and WhatsApp profiles in his name and scooped money out of people.
Then they asked victims for registration fees before any supposed money could come.
Ugandans on X jumped on the post fast. Some thanked her for the heads-up. Others shared their own close calls with similar frauds. A few even promised to hunt down more fake pages and report them.
