Former State House spokesperson and veteran journalist Kanze Dena has resurfaced with a new mission focused on empowering women across Kenya after weeks away from the public eye.
On Sunday, July 12, Kanze shared an update on Instagram, revealing that she had been working behind the scenes on a programme aimed at improving the economic well-being of women.
She announced that the initiative had successfully completed its first milestone, a research phase designed to identify practical ways of helping women achieve financial independence.
“1st mission down. Researching how to economically empower women. Thank you to all our partners for continuing to walk this journey with us. My heart is full,” she wrote while sharing a cheerful photo with members of the project.
The initiative brings together several organisations committed to improving the lives of women. Among them is She Stands Kenya, which combines biblical teaching with practical life skills to help women discover their purpose and build meaningful lives.
Kanze is also working with the Rose Women Foundation, a non-profit organisation that fights poverty by equipping women with Bible-based business skills. The foundation has been supporting women’s groups in Nairobi’s informal settlements and promoting mental health awareness in local communities.
The programme also includes reproductive health experts who will educate women on common health issues that are often overlooked or rarely discussed.
The research findings are expected to guide long-term solutions that address the social and economic challenges facing women in different parts of the country.
Before joining State House as former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s spokesperson, Kanze built a successful career as a television journalist at Citizen TV. Her latest update was warmly received by many Kenyans, who praised her commitment to serving communities and creating opportunities for women.
Many followers welcomed her return, saying the initiative has the potential to make a lasting difference in the lives of thousands of women across Kenya.
