Kenyan singer Jovial has publicly apologised to fellow musician Otile Brown, signalling that she wants to end their highly publicised fallout after their disagreement took a deeply personal turn.
The singer said her priority is now protecting her peace and shielding her child from the ongoing social media drama.
Jovial shared the apology through her Instagram page on Monday, July 13, 2026, following fresh remarks by Otile Brown regarding a DNA test that he claimed ruled him out as the father of her child. The latest development marked a dramatic shift in a dispute that initially centred on their past professional relationship, music collaborations and royalty payments.
In her statement, Jovial admitted that the exchange had gone too far after her child became part of the public conversation. She said she no longer wished to continue the back-and-forth online, stressing that an innocent child should not be caught up in a disagreement between adults.
“The fact that you brought a child into this, that’s it. I don’t have much to say. You won,” she wrote, before extending an apology to Otile Brown.
Jovial explained that her decision to apologise was motivated by the need to restore peace in her life and protect her family. She acknowledged that publicly speaking about her past experiences was a mistake and said she would handle similar situations differently in the future.
“I want to apologise to Otile Brown for the sake of my peace and for the sake of my child. He is innocent and doesn’t deserve this. This is my mess,” she stated.
Her comments came only hours after Otile Brown posted a message claiming that DNA test results had ended speculation surrounding the child’s paternity. According to the singer, the results confirmed that he was not the father.
Otile also suggested that the matter should now be considered closed, maintaining that the DNA findings had provided clarity on the issue.
The public dispute between the two artists has unfolded over several days, with both sharing lengthy statements on social media. Jovial questioned payments and royalties linked to their previous collaborations, while Otile defended his record, saying he had supported her professionally and personally throughout their working relationship.
Although the disagreement began as a dispute over music business matters, it later escalated into personal accusations that attracted widespread attention from fans across social media platforms.
Jovial’s latest statement appears to signal a desire to draw a line under the controversy and move forward. By apologising publicly and expressing concern for her child’s wellbeing, the singer indicated that some issues are better resolved away from the public eye.
Whether the apology brings a permanent end to the conflict remains to be seen, but it marks the clearest indication yet that Jovial wants to leave the bitter exchange behind and focus on her family and career.
