Born in 1982 in Kiambu, Kenya, Waruinge discovered her passion for the arts during her high school years, specifically after watching a drama festival play. She was discovered by comedian Churchill and eventually joined the cast of Tahidi High in its fourth season.
Miss Morgan was a no-nonsense deputy principal who hardly ever smiled in the high school drama. She played her role exceptionally.
The veteran actress spent exactly 10 years on the popular at Tahidi High before leaving the show.
Thereafter, despite the massive success of Tahidi High, Waruinge’s life off-screen was fraught with financial and societal pressures.
Following the loss of work and opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic, she fell into chronic depression.
Waruinge recalled her cast fondly stating that they were a tight nipped group who would spend so much time together.
A few years ago photos of Angel Waruinge “treating” herself in a bar went viral on social media, causing her supporters to worry that she might follow in the footsteps of other actors such as Teacher Meiposi and Omosh who are believed to have succumbed to alcoholism.
Miss Morgan has also talked about her weight loss journey. She explained that her weight made her uncomfortable and self conscious. She felt like she couldn’t wear certain clothes or get certain roles. Thus, she began her weight loss journey and managed to lose a considerable amount of weight.
