Kabugi

The family of former Machachari actor Brian Kabugi has received significant support from well-wishers following the death of his mother, Lucy Macharia, helping them overcome a major financial challenge during a difficult period.

Kabugi recently confirmed that the outstanding hospital bill incurred during his mother’s treatment had been fully settled through contributions from supporters. According to information shared by the actor and reported by TUKO.co.ke, the bill amounted to KSh 3.8 million and had become a major concern for the family after Macharia’s death.

The actor had earlier announced the passing of his mother, explaining that she had been unwell for some time before her death. Following the loss, he appealed for assistance to help clear the medical expenses that remained unpaid.

In a message of appreciation published on June 24, Kabugi thanked fans, friends, and well-wishers who responded to the appeal. He stated that the hospital bill had been cleared through donations, prayers, and support from members of the public. He expressed gratitude to those who contributed financially and to those who helped spread the appeal.

Kabugi also noted that a planned community fundraising event would still go on despite the settlement of the hospital debt. According to the report, the event is intended to honour his mother’s life and help the family meet funeral-related expenses. Several Kenyan artistes were expected to participate in the initiative.

The development highlights the role played by supporters and members of the public in assisting families facing large medical bills and funeral costs. For Kabugi and his family, the successful fundraising effort has eased a major financial burden as they continue to mourn the loss of Lucy Macharia and prepare for her final send-off.
