A police officer and a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier are among seven individuals who have been arrested in connection with the attempted robbery of a Crown Courier Services lorry in Nakuru.
The suspects were taken into custody on Wednesday following a coordinated operation led by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters, working alongside officers from Nakuru West.Authorities said the arrests form part of ongoing investigations into the failed robbery incident.
The attempted heist, which targeted a Crown Courier Services truck, is reported to have been well planned before it backfired.
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered a toy pistol, various crude weapons, a laptop, multiple mobile phones, and two Subaru Legacy vehicles, all believed to be linked to the criminal activity under investigation.
The suspects were initially arrested in Kisumu before being transferred to Kaptembwo Police Station in Nakuru, where they are currently being held as they await further investigation and possible court proceedings.
Police have confirmed that investigations are still ongoing and have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests as the probe continues.
