A Danish woman has opened up about a painful relationship experience that she says left her emotionally devastated and financially drained after allegedly losing nearly KSh20 million to a Kenyan man she met during a holiday in Kenya.
Charlotte Miles first met David during a visit to the Maasai Mara with her then husband.At the time, David worked as a waiter at a tourist camp.What started as a simple conversation quickly developed into a close connection.
Charlotte was fascinated by Maasai culture and David reportedly presented himself as a member of the community, something that strengthened her interest in him.
After returning to Denmark,the communication between the two continued. Their bond grew stronger and Charlotte eventually began making trips back to Kenya to see him.
The relationship became serious enough to create problems in her marriage which later ended in divorce as she chose to pursue a future with David.
As their relationship progressed,Charlotte took on most of the financial responsibilities.She supported David financially after he left his job and reportedly funded various aspects of his lifestyle. One of the major purchases she made was a vehicle for him.
Shortly after receiving the car,David allegedly became distant and stopped responding to her messages.Determined to recover her property,Charlotte hired a private investigator leading to legal action against David.
However,the case did not move forward after she chose to forgive him and withdrew the complaint. The pair later reconciled and continued their relationship despite the challenges they had already faced.
During this period,Charlotte discovered that David was involved with another woman and had fathered a child.
She also learned that he had maintainedrelationships with several other women while continuing to receive financial support from her.
Despite the revelations,she remained committed to the relationship and even developed ties with his family,frequently providing financial assistance whenever requested.
According to Charlotte,the relationship lasted seven years,during which she spent an estimated KSh20 million.
She claims that promises of marriage never materialized and that David continued seeing other women whenever she traveled back to Denmark.
Although deeply hurt by the experience,Charlotte says she decided to share her story publicly to warn other women about the risks of financially supporting romantic partners without proper caution and transparency.
