A second wave of political leaders arrived at Khachonge Primary School in Kabuchai Constituency on Saturday afternoon for the burial ceremony of former Ford Kenya nominated MP Patrick Wangamati, shortly after a number of opposition leaders left the venue.

The delegation is led by National Assembly Speaker , Bungoma Governor and Bungoma Senator .

Their arrival marked another significant moment in a burial ceremony that has drawn prominent political figures from across the country. Earlier in the day, opposition leaders including Nairobi Senator , Trans Nzoia Governor , Kakamega Senator and Roots Party leader attended the funeral and addressed mourners.

The burial of the late Patrick Wangamati, father of former Bungoma Governor , has evolved into one of the largest political gatherings witnessed in the region in recent months. Thousands of mourners have continued to stream into the venue to pay their final respects to the veteran politician and community leader.

Speaker Wetang’ula and the Kenya Kwanza-allied leaders are expected to address mourners and pay tribute to the late Wangamati, who is being remembered for his contribution to public service, leadership and community development.

The presence of leaders from both government and opposition camps has highlighted the respect Wangamati commanded across political divides. Despite moments of political rivalry and spirited speeches during the day, the ceremony has remained focused on celebrating the life and legacy of a leader whose influence extended far beyond Bungoma County.

As the final burial rites continue, mourners remain gathered in large numbers to honour the late former legislator and bid him a final farewell.
