Ekirapa

Media personality and gospel minister Grace Ekirapa has candidly shared the emotional struggles she faced in church after rumours about the end of her marriage to actor Pascal Tokodi spread online.

Speaking during a heartfelt session with her followers, Grace revealed that the period following the breakup became one of the most difficult chapters of her life—not just personally, but spiritually too.

The former TV presenter explained that although she had faithfully served in church for years, attitudes towards her suddenly changed after news of the separation surfaced. According to Grace, some members who once celebrated her ministry started distancing themselves from her.

She recalled being summoned by one of her pastors, who informed her that several congregants were uncomfortable seeing her continue ministering on the pulpit after the divorce rumours emerged.

The conversation left her shaken.

“My heart was racing. I honestly thought I was about to be chased away from church,” she admitted.

However, Grace praised her pastor for standing by her during the difficult season. Instead of asking her to step down, the preacher gave her the freedom to decide whether she still wanted to serve.

Grace said ministry became the one place where she still felt emotionally stable amid the chaos surrounding her private life.

The mother of one also used the experience to question how some churches handle people going through painful seasons. She compared the church to a hospital meant to heal wounded souls, saying believers should find restoration instead of judgment.

Her remarks have sparked conversations online, with many Kenyans applauding her honesty and opening up about similar experiences in religious spaces.

Grace and Pascal Tokodi had long been admired as one of Kenya’s favourite celebrity couples before speculation about their separation dominated social media discussions.
