Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared a touching account of a visit he made to a grieving family, where he spent time comforting a young girl, Talisha, following the heartbreaking loss of her mother.
On their way back to Nairobi, Sonko and his team made a stop at Anita’s home, where they had carried a few shopping items for the little girl.
However, what was meant to be a simple visit turned into an emotional moment, as the household continues to struggle with deep grief.
According to Sonko, young Talisha is going through a very painful experience after the tragic death of her mother. The child, together with the house help, was present during the incident. Since then, she has appeared withdrawn, quiet, and visibly affected by the loss.
The family revealed that the difficult task of breaking the news to her was handled gently, explaining that her mother is no longer in the hospital and has passed away.
In her innocence, Talisha has repeatedly asked to be taken to the hospital, saying she wants to see her mother, a moment that has deeply moved those around her.
Sonko noted that he and his team spent time with the family, offering words of comfort and emotional support. They also shared a moment of prayer, which he said was necessary in such a painful situation where words alone are not enough.
After the visit, they continued their journey back to Nairobi.
Sonko called on the public to remember Talisha and her family in their prayers, noting that they are in urgent need of strength, healing, and emotional support as they come to terms with the loss.
