Police in Nakuru County are investigating the brutal killing of a 38-year-old woman whose body was found abandoned by the roadside in Naivasha.
Joy Ines Mwende was found lying lifeless along the Gitwamba–Kinamba murram road near Gitwamba Primary School.
Passersby who spotted the body quickly alerted authorities, prompting a swift response from police officers and forensic experts.
Police said initial investigations revealed Mwende had sustained a deep stab wound on the right side of her neck, extending toward the collarbone.
Her clothes were soaked in blood, raising suspicion that she may have been attacked elsewhere before being dumped at the scene.
It is believed the incident occurred during the night, though the exact time and motive remain unclear.
Mwende was well known in the area as both a hotel worker and a church minister. She worked at John Wise Hotel in Kinamba and also served as a pastor at a local in Naivasha.
Friends, colleagues, and congregants described her as hardworking, kind, and devoted to her faith. Her sudden death has left the community grieving, with many condemning the brutal act.
Forensic officers processed the scene and collected evidence to aid investigations. The body was later moved to the local mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish more details about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are appealing to members of the public to share any information that could help in the case.
