Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Monday evening gave his daughter, Sandra Mbuvi, a heartfelt send-off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as she returned to the United Kingdom to continue her studies.Sonko arrived at the airport accompanied by a convoy of high-end SUVs, drawing attention from travellers and airport staff as he escorted his daughter to her departure point.
In a reflective message shared on his social media platforms, Sonko expressed both pride and emotion as he bid farewell to Sandra, who is pursuing higher education in the UK.
He described the moment as one filled with mixed emotions, noting the difficulty of saying goodbye while also celebrating her academic journey.
He encouraged her to remain focused and disciplined, emphasizing the importance of education as a foundation for future success.
Sonko also urged her to stay strong and trust in her abilities as she continues her studies abroad.
Sandra Mbuvi is currently enrolled at the University of Brighton International College, where she is undertaking a four-year program in Journalism, Broadcasting, Media, and Podcasting. She began her studies in September 2023.Sonko also reflected on the emotional impact of her absence, acknowledging that her departure leaves a significant void in their daily family life.
