Speculation is mounting after Edwin Sifuna, the Nairobi Senator, met with Godfrey Osotsi and Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya ahead of the planned Linda Mwananchi rally in Kisumu. Sharing the moment on Facebook, Sifuna wrote that he was “catching up with my brothers Osotsi and Governor Natembeya over tea,” adding that “the future looks bright.”
The meeting comes amid heightened political activity within the Linda Mwananchi movement, which has confirmed it will proceed with its Kisumu rally following an earlier event in Nakuru on April 19, 2026. This is despite rising tensions triggered by the recent attack on Senator Osotsi in Kisumu on April 8.
Leaders within the movement have insisted that acts of violence will not derail their mobilization efforts across Western Kenya. Osotsi, who sustained injuries during the incident, has accused senior government officials of misusing security agencies for political purposes and failing to address insecurity.
After being discharged from hospital, Osotsi reaffirmed his commitment to attend the Kisumu rally, emphasizing his strong ties to the region and dismissing claims that outsiders face hostility there.
