A fresh political storm is brewing within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai publicly warned party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna against attending an upcoming rally in Kisumu without first apologising to Oburu Odinga.
Alai’s remarks, which quickly spread across social media on Wednesday, reflect deepening divisions within ODM at a time when the party is facing increasing political pressure nationally. In a strongly worded statement, Alai insisted that party discipline must be upheld, accusing Sifuna of disrespecting senior leadership.
“Don’t go to Kisumu rally if you haven’t apologised to our party leader Oburu Odinga,” Alai said, signaling what many observers now see as an escalating internal fallout.
The dispute is believed to stem from recent remarks made by Sifuna that were perceived by some party members as dismissive of Oburu’s influence within ODM.
