Nyandarua Senator John Methu has disclosed details regarding his relationship with President William Ruto, indicating that he was previously one of the president’s closest political associates.

Methu was justifying his recent statement from a funeral event in Nyandarua, that have ignited public discussion.

In a discussion about his political position and behavior Methu asserted that his remarks aimed at the head of state were neither disrespectful nor inappropriate.

Methu further justified his choice to speak openly during public events, including funerals, asserting that leaders have an obligation to voice the opinions of the constituents who elected them.

He further revealed that If he died someday, he would wish for politicians to engage in extensive political discourse at his funeral because he is a politician.

He urges his family to recognize and appreciate that he have been addressing numerous funerals.

His comments arise amidst intensified political discussions regarding the responsibilities of elected leaders.

Methu emphasized that effective leadership necessitates bravery and accountability, pointing out that fear of authority diminishes the constitutional duty of oversight assigned to lawmakers.
