Former Nairobi regional police commander Adamson Bungei on Monday evening made a rare public appearance when he attended a high-level police meeting that was presided over by the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.
Kanja was accompanied by senior police officials when he hosted his counterpart from Rwanda for a meeting at Safari Park Hotel.
The director of the Criminals Investigations Directorate, Mohammed Amin, was among the senior cops who attended the event.
Bungei was also in attendance in what was a rare public appearance by the former Nairobi police boss.
Bungei served as Nairobi regional police boss for three years before being appointed as the director of operations at the police headquarters, Vigilance House.
He was recently redeployed when he was moved to head the National Focal Point on Small Arms and Light Weapons in changes made by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of the Kenya Police Service wing, Eliud Lagat.
Since his redeployment, the towering no-nonsense cop has maintained a low public profile.
