Bob Orengo is the son of Kenyan politician and lawyer James Aggrey Bob Orengo and Betty Kaari Murungi, also a lawyer and human rights defender.

He is part of a large family with his siblings, who include Michael, Steven, Zeni, Josephine, Lavender and Lynette Orengo.

Just like his parents and elder brother Michael, Bob also saw interest in the law career and pursued a Bachelors degree of Law.

On July 3, 2020, Bob Orengo was admitted to the Bar in Kenya as an advocate, and this meant he was legally qualified to practise law in Kenya.

The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Justice of Kenya and included other newly qualified advocates.

He was among 96 advocates admitted that day, with notable legal figures and public officials present.

During the admission, prominent leaders, including his parents James Orengo, Betty Kaari Murungi, and Raila Odinga, publicly congratulated Bob on achieving this professional milestone.

Reports mention that after his law degree, Bob went on to pursue studies in politics and international relations as part of his education along with law.

Unlike his other siblings, Bob is the only child with the passion to follow in his father’s political career lifestyle.

Around 2015, Bob was reported to have been hospitalised after a night out with friends. Details about the incident were limited at the time and mainly described family reactions, without detailed personal health information.

As an advocate of the High Court of Kenya admitted in 2020, Bob Orengo is legally qualified to practise law.

However, there are no widely published details about his specific legal practice, such as his law firm, areas of specialisation, or current job role in the legal profession.
