Controversial Kenyan content creator Andrew Kibe has once again stirred public debate after revealing that he does not attend weddings or funerals — not even for close family members. Speaking during an interview with radio host Alex Mwakideu, Kibe insisted that he finds such gatherings unnecessary and has no intention of changing his stance.

During the conversation, Kibe was asked whether he attended the funeral of a former partner who had passed away. His response was blunt. He said he does not attend funerals under any circumstances, arguing that once a person dies, there is no reason for him to be present at their burial.

Kibe further explained that he also avoids weddings, warning people not to invite him to social events. According to him, these occasions consume time without adding value to his life. He claimed that he prefers to keep his circle small and self-contained, stating that his idea of family begins and ends with himself.

The outspoken influencer also shared his criticism of modern social ceremonies, saying that weddings and funerals have turned into “sideshows.” He argued that such events are overly dominated by women and have drifted away from their original meaning. Kibe recalled attending a funeral in the past but said he disliked the sermon delivered, a moment he claims reinforced his decision never to attend such gatherings again.

His remarks quickly sparked mixed reactions online. While some supported his opinion, saying funerals and weddings can be exhausting or costly, others described his views as extreme and emotionally detached. Several netizens questioned who would bury him when his time comes, while others suggested his statements reflect unresolved personal trauma.

As expected, Kibe’s comments have once again placed him at the center of public discussion — a position he seems no stranger to occupying.
