It is over one year since Lt Colonel Damaris Agnetta was replaced as President William Ruto’s deputy Aide-de-Camp after almost two years in the job.

Lt Colonel Agnetta, who is from the Kenya Army, was appointed to the position in October 2022 to succeed Colonel Rachael Nduta Kamui, who was posted to Kenya Defence Forces headquarters.

Colonel Nduta is so far the only Kenya Air Force officer to serve as Presidential ADC in the history of Kenya.

Boasting 22 years in KDF having been enlisted into the service in 2003 as a Cadet officer, Lt Colonel Agnetta was posted to Artillery Brigade upon commissioning.

She would quickly rise through the ranks to her current rank of a Lt Colonel.

There is no doubt that the highlight of her military career was her appointment as the assistant ADC to Ruto in 2022.

But in 2024, Ruto stepped out with a new female ADC. Lt Colonel Joan Osweto from the Kenya Navy, had replaced Lt Colonel Agnetta whose fate remains unknown almost one year later.

Did she go back to school as she gears up for promotion to the rank of Colonel?
