In the last few hours or so, Citizen TV news reporter Hillary Okeyo has been trending on social media.
This is after a video emerged showing how he was struggling a lot do a report while live on camera.
Hillary Okeyo had actually been tasked to do a report about the 5th Piny Luo Festival, that was recently officially opened at the Rongo University. The opening ceremony was actually presided over by the ODM Party leader Oburu Oginga.
When he did the report however, he seemed not to be as composed as he should have been and therefore the report was not as smooth as one would have expected.
The move by Hillary Okeyo to struggle to do the report however elicited massive reactions from netizens, most of who unfortunately trolled him.
Hillary Okeyo breaks his silence
After hours of Hillary Okeyo trending on social media, he has finally broken his silence.
Hillary is actually not fazed by the negative reactions, and he also does not regret what transpired.
This is because he is actually proud of how he boldly took the opportunity to try and do a news report, even though he is a cameraman professionally.
Hillary also made it clear that his bosses were not disappointed by how he struggled and therefore he wondered why people were criticizing him so much.
“So many calls, Dms, text messages. My phone is buzzing every second. Am trending at no. 1 because I took up an opportunity of a lifetime.
Do I regret. No.
Am I happy. Yes. Trending for the right reasons.
Did I embarass myself? No. I agreed to it and that’s a plus for me.
To those who understand my professional background, am a camera person not a reporter. Big distinction.
My seniors requested me to try it out and I embraced the opportunity and to me I didn’t fail. I did as I thought it would be right.
