Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, better known as Junior Nyong’o, is the son of Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o and younger brother of actress Lupita Nyong’o.

The couple dated low-key for years, got engaged in November 2019, and married on 30 July 2020 in a small, private ceremony at Zereniti House, Limuru, Kenya.Wanja moved from Australia to Kenya three years before the wedding.
She has described Junior as “a fixed point in my universe, and the best friend I’ve ever known.”

In 2018 she released her debut album Matriarch which is a 9 track ode to coming of age, finding home and the complexities of youth.
Since then she has continued to record, collaborate and perform around the world. In 2021 she launched the ‘Black Glitter Newsletter’ which is a resource newsletter with tips and insights to navigating the independent music industry as a young musician.
She enjoys her life with her spouse, despite the fact that he wears dresses.
