The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) party leader Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence after reports emerged that his DCP party has won the Narok Town ward by-election.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, Gachagua stated that the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has lost to his party in the hotly contested by-election.
However, he also reported that violence has erupted even after the completion of vote counting. Gachagua informed that the UDA party has unleashed goons who are working with the police to burn down election materials in the ward.
He stated that ballot boxes and kiems kits have been torched by the goons.
The former Deputy President blamed his former boss President William Ruto and Narok governor Patrick Ole Ntutu for the violence.
“After losing the Narok Township Ward By-Elections, the Government has sent goons and police to burn the ballot boxes and Kiems kits but it is too little, too late. How desperate is William Ruto and Patrick Ntutu?” He wrote.
