Popular gospel singer Charity Waruinu is celebrating a major milestone in her career after being appointed as a protocol officer in the Office of the Deputy President, Prof. Kithure Kindiki. Her appointment was confirmed by Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi, who revealed that he met with both the Deputy President and the musician shortly before the official announcement.

Wamumbi expressed pride in Waruinu’s achievement, noting that her journey exemplifies resilience, faith, and the rewards of perseverance. He described her as “the stone that the builders rejected,” echoing the biblical metaphor to highlight how she has risen from past challenges to secure a prestigious position in one of the highest offices in the country.

Waruinu, known for her uplifting gospel music and inspiring personal story, has built a large following across the nation. Many fans consider her a role model not only for her musical talent but also for her humility and strong Christian values. With this appointment, she joins the ranks of influential young Kenyans taking up key roles in government.

She is expected to officially begin her duties at the Deputy President’s office on December 1, 2025. Her role will involve assisting in managing official engagements, coordinating high-level meetings, ensuring protocol standards are met during state functions, and supporting the DP’s team in diplomatic and ceremonial assignments.

Her appointment comes barely a day after another notable government placement — the appointment of Ryan Malulu Injendi, son of former Malava MP Malulu Injendi, as Kenya’s business attaché to South Africa. These back-to-back announcements signal ongoing efforts to inject fresh energy and new faces into key government roles.

For many of Waruinu’s supporters, this is a proud moment that underscores the transformative power of talent, determination, and divine favour.
