Popular Kenyan DJ Dibul has publicly dismissed allegations that he is being physically abused by his partner, actress Dorea Chege, calling the claims unfounded and lacking evidence. In a post (partly translated from Swahili) he wrote:

“Even if you hate someone, 😂😂😂 why do they say he gets assaulted at the balcony? 🙌😂 Weh! People have a lot of rumours with no evidence. Don’t confuse being reserved with being abused. That’s lame thinking. Anyway, blessed night fam from Doha, Qatar 🇶🇦 for Ngemi tour tomorrow.” He wrote on Facebook.

His comments come amid a flurry of social media speculation that his wife is assaulting him charges he insists are baseless.

Dorea Chege has also pushed back on the rumours, responding in her usual humorous style. On Instagram, she posted that she’s “looking for a taekwondo trainer,” a tongue-in-cheek jab at claims of aggression.

When a fan asked whether she “beats Dibul,” she replied: “Where did he say he was beaten up?”

In a more serious note, Dorea told a radio presenter she was shocked by the rumours and called on those spreading them to reach out with proof suggesting many of the claims are coming from “enemies” or “haters.”

The couple, who welcomed their first child earlier this year, have weathered previous allegations but have repeatedly reaffirmed their commitment to one another.

As of now, neither has provided concrete evidence to support claims of a police investigation or formal complaint. Observers say the episode is becoming less about abuse and more about battling online gossip.
