The family of Nairobi deliveryman Anthony Otieno Olwal is demanding justice as fresh details emerge regarding his brutal murder at the Meridian Apartment in South B on November 18.

Olwal, a father of three, had gone to deliver an iPhone 17 Pro Max to a client who had booked a short-stay apartment at the building. Hours later, he was found dead, bound and gagged, under the bed in the same room.

According to investigators, Olwal arrived at the apartment at around 11:50 am, as captured on CCTV footage.

The video shows him standing on the fourth floor, holding his phone while attempting to reach the client. Moments later, he is ushered into a room carrying a blue carrier bag containing the brand-new iPhone.

Minutes after he entered, the first suspect is seen hurriedly leaving the building with a brown suitcase. Two more men follow, one allegedly carrying the murder weapon.

Shocking new information now indicates that the suspects left the iPhone 17 behind, raising questions about their true motive.

Detectives believe one suspect may have stuffed the phone into the suitcase before fleeing, unaware that the landlady, Charity Muthoni, had picked it up when they left without paying in full.

The revelation has puzzled many Kenyans who now believe the killing may not have been motivated by robbery. “If they left the phone, then there was another reason behind this murder,” one online user wrote.

Others suggested that Olwal may have been targeted or witnessed something he was not meant to see.

Olwal’s family remains devastated. His brother, Isaiah Ochieng’, shared their last communications, noting that Anthony left the shop at 10:30 am and was unreachable shortly after.

His widow also recalled their final call, saying he had promised to return immediately after the delivery.

As the investigation intensifies, Kenyans continue to call for the swift arrest of the suspects and justice for the slain deliveryman, whose death has sparked national outrage and renewed concerns over rider safety in Nairobi.
