Beauty influencer and entrepreneur Phoina Wambui has opened up about how she lived with a boyfriend for seven years in what she described as a marriage that did not work. Beauty influencer Phoina Wambui has opened up about how her seven-year relationship left her with nothing.

The influencer was recently spotted in a cosy video with car businessman Khalif Kairo fueling relationship rumours. Was Phoina Wambui previously married? In an interview with Alex Mwakideu, Phoina opened up about her relationship that made her lose everything.

“One thing I have not told you is that I lived with someone for seven years. Yes, one person. I would say it was literally like a marriage. But he didn’t work, so I lost everything. I left that marriage with nothing. At that time, I was in my early twenties until almost my late twenties. I would say it was like a marriage, and I was able to grow as a person during that time. It was good for me because it grounded me, but I still lost everything,” she shared.

Phoina reflected on how her experience taught her important lessons about long-term relationships and why she is careful about the kind of commitment she seeks today.

“Right now, in many marriages, people stay together for ten years and then separate, and things get worse. You start fighting over possessions like land and businesses, and that is how you end up losing everything, and your kids become unstable,” Phoina said.

What does Phoina want in man? She explained that she wants any future partner to fully understand who she is and for the relationship to be built on friendship, compatibility and shared values. Phoina added that sometimes a relationship ends because one partner refuses to grow or cannot match the pace of the other.

“So the seven-year relationship I had just ended, so clearly he didn’t understand the kind of person I was. Or maybe the person I was in my early twenties is not the person I am now. You change, things change, and your environment and mindset also change.

You level up and become a different person. And maybe that’s why a marriage ends. If your partner is not growing to the level you want to grow to, you don’t have an option but to move on and leave him,” she added.
