When a few months ago, Johnson Mose proudly shared photos of his finished project on social media, he could hardly contain his smile. The father of two had spent years saving, working, and planning tirelessly to make a dream come true that he so often referred to as his gift to the future. Friends and family flooded his page with congratulatory messages, celebrating his determination and success.
But today, that same page is filled with messages of sorrow and disbelief, as Mose died suddenly only months after celebrating what he termed his biggest milestone. The tragedy of his sudden death has left his loved ones devastated, at the same time sending shockwaves through the community.
Mose, according to family sources, fell sick a few weeks ago and was in and out of hospital before his condition worsened. He died peacefully on the morning of Monday at a Nairobi hospital.
He was so full of life said his close friend Peter Omondi. I still remember how happy he was when he showed me the finished project. He kept saying, This is for my children. It breaks my heart that he won’t be here to see them grow up.
Mose left behind two young children and a widow who described him as a “loving, hardworking, and visionary man. Burial plans are underway, while friends initiate a fundraiser to support the young family he leaves behind.
As tributes continue to pour in, many described his story as both inspiring and heartbreaking a reminder of how precarious life can be. Johnson Mose’s name will be remembered not just for his achievements, but for the hope, resilience, and love he showed in every step of his journey.
