Litein Boys High School in Kericho has been closed indefinitely following student unrest on Sunday night. According to Kericho OCPD Benedict Chirchir, the learners attempted to break into a nearby girls’ school, prompting swift intervention by security officers. The incident caused tension in the area, with residents raising concerns over rising cases of student indiscipline in secondary schools.

Reports indicate that the unrest began within the school compound before escalating as students attempted to storm Litein Girls High School, situated nearby. Authorities moved quickly to disperse the crowd and restore order, averting possible damage or injury. Following consultations between the police, school administration, and education officials, it was resolved that the boys be sent home until further notice.

The OCPD confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the attempted break-in. He urged students to maintain discipline and embrace dialogue rather than resorting to chaos.
