The Equity Bank family and the wider Busia community are in deep mourning following the unexpected passing of Oscar Masinde.
Mr Masinde, the manager of Equity Bank’s Busia branch, reportedly collapsed early in the morning while preparing to wash his car at his home in Maliki, located along the Kitale–Webuye Road.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The cause of his death remains unknown, though a postmortem examination has been scheduled to provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding his demise.
His has triggered an outpouring of tributes from friends, colleagues, and clients who admired his work and leadership.
Among the mourners is Webuye East Member of Parliament, Hon. Martin Wanyonyi Pepela, who expressed heartfelt condolences to Masinde’s family. Wanyonyi described Masinde as a model professional whose dedication, integrity, and commitment to excellence were evident throughout his career.
His death is not only a blow to his family and the bank but also to the larger Busia community, where he was a respected figure.
