The Permanent Presidential Music Commission (PPMC) has announced a series of auditions across Kitui County in preparation for the 2025 Mashujaa Day celebrations. The exercise, targeting talented musicians and creatives from Kitui and its environs, will run from Tuesday, 19th August to Sunday, 31st August 2025.

According to the schedule, auditions will be held in multiple towns including Nthangani, Katse, Tseikuru, Kyuso, Mwingi, Mutomo, Ikutha, Mbiti, Katulani, Kabati, Kwa Vonza, Kanyangi, Matinyani, Nzambani, and Kitui Town. Venues range from local churches and social halls to learning institutions and county offices, with the events set to take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Participants are required to carry their original National ID or passport and will be photographed, filmed, and recorded during the process, with the materials potentially used for promotional and archival purposes.

PPMC said the auditions aim to identify and showcase local talent for inclusion in the Mashujaa Day festivities, a national event that celebrates Kenya’s heroes and heroines.

This year’s Mashujaa day will be marked with celebrations held in Kitui county, where the head of state, President William Ruto will be expected to lead the nation on the annual historic day.
