Popular influencer Mercy Masai has left many Kenyans talking after she shared a photo on Facebook holding hands with a man believed to be Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi. The photo, which appeared in her Facebook stories, showed her hand locked with a man’s hand in a sweet and cozy moment.
What got people talking was the fact that Mercy captioned the photo with the word “Mine” and added love heart emojis. Although the man’s face was not shown, curious fans online zoomed in on the photo and started connecting the dots.
They noticed the man was wearing a flashy watch and white trousers that looked exactly like what Oscar Sudi wore in another photo he had posted earlier. In that photo, Sudi was dressed in white trousers and a black sweater, meeting a Kalenjin comedian.
To make matters more interesting, Mercy had earlier shared a message saying, “Love is a beautiful thing,” just hours before posting the hand-holding photo. This made people believe she was finally showing off her lover in public.
However, this “soft launch” of their relationship didn’t go as planned. Online detectives, also known as “social media DCIs,” quickly concluded that the man was Oscar Sudi. This has caused a lot of debate because Sudi is a married man with two wives, Lilian and Anne, who are well known to the public. In fact, after the 2022 elections, both of his wives were seen picking up his election certificate.
Many social media users reacted with shock and disappointment. Some questioned how Mercy could post a married man and even call him “mine,” while others criticized her for not caring about the wives.
So far, neither Mercy Masai nor Oscar Sudi has said anything about the dating rumours. But the internet is still buzzing, and people are waiting to see if the two will speak out or keep quiet.
