Celebrated Mugithi singer and police officer Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, popularly known as Samidoh, On Tuesday, August 5, offered fans a rare glimpse into his village life.In a photo shared online, the musician is seen standing in his compound while preparing to cook.
The photo paints a warm and humble picture of the star. He stands in front of a neatly built stone house under a bright blue sky, dressed casually in a dark grey sweatshirt, matching sweatpants, and simple footwear.
A subtle gold chain hangs around his neck, adding a hint of flair. His relaxed posture and genuine smile reflect a man deeply connected to his roots.
A large cooking pot simmering on a makeshift stove adds a homely feel to the image, hinting at meal preparations in progress.
The scene offers a refreshing contrast to his high-energy stage performances and public controversies, showcasing a grounded, authentic side of the artist.Samidoh’s post comes weeks after a tense period in his career. In June, National Police Service accused him of deserting duty after failing to report to his new station at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) in Gilgil.
His official leave had ended on May 27, 2025, but he remained absent for over ten days, prompting a directive for his arrest.
The situation escalated following a performance where concertgoers were seen chanting anti-government slogans.
However, in a ruling delivered on July 25, the court granted Samidoh anticipatory bail of Ksh200,000 and issued an order preventing his arrest, allowing the artist some relief amid the ongoing disciplinary case.
