The woman from Lang’o Orawo village, Kadik Sub-location, North Ward, Karachuonyo constituency, Homa Bay county, is pleased because her dignity has been restored by the gift of a beautiful house.
Susan Akinyi Okoth, a courageous mother of four school-aged children, was given a new and dignified home created with love and care.
According to a source, Okoth lived in awful conditions and experienced numerous problems. “She had lived in horrible conditions.
The house she was in was in disrepair and unfit for human habitation. “She has also been sick and has high blood pressure,” the insider claimed.
Okoth’s problems began when her husband was hacked to death in the middle of the night, leaving her with a huge load to bear.
It has not been easy to care for her small children alone, especially after her husband’s death. “Her main problem has been educating her four children and supplying them with appropriate attire.
She’s been working menial jobs at a nearby primary school called Anyiko Primary,” the insider added. Okoth was relieved and delighted as she moved into her new home, courtesy of PS Omollo.
She couldn’t contain her pleasure after receiving the life-changing gift, that will benefit both her children and herself.
The new house contains four rooms: a large sitting area, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a store. Okoth formerly resided in a mabati house, which was in disrepair and even endangered the 48-year-old and her children’s lives.
She was nearly overcome with emotion as other widows, joined her for a little housewarming ceremony. They organized a prayer session at her new home to dedicate it and ask for provision.
Okoth did not move into an empty house; instead, she was given furniture and shopping things to help her settle into her new home. In one photo, she is seen sitting on a wooden chair and bending her head in prayer.
Other ladies surrounded her, bowing their heads in prayer and standing alongside Okoth, understanding how much she had gone through.
