Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua is at the center of a heated custody and child support battle, after a Dubai-based woman publicly accused him of neglecting his parental duties—despite DNA results confirming he fathered her child.
The woman, identified in court papers only as FMM, insists that Mutua has “completely failed” to meet any responsibility toward their daughter, born in August 2023.
In a pointed message to the CS, she reminded him bluntly: “We did not use protection.”
FMM has filed a case at the Milimani Children’s Court, where she is demanding Sh6 million in backdated support and a lavish lifestyle for herself and the child.
Her demands reportedly include foreign residency, a diplomatic position, government tenders, and what sources describe as “a blank cheque.”
According to court filings, Mutua acknowledges a brief relationship with FMM, describing it as a short-lived affair that quickly spiraled into “emotional blackmail and extortion.”
The CS claims he has faced continuous harassment, with the woman allegedly bombarding him with late-night calls and social media threats designed to pressure him into compliance.
Sources close to the case say FMM has warned Mutua she would “expose everything” unless her demands are met.
Despite DNA test results confirming his paternity, Mutua contends that the woman’s demands are not only excessive but “calculated to manipulate and shame” him.
The case is likely to cause political ripples, especially given Mutua’s high-profile role in government and previous controversies linked to his personal life.
As the legal battle unfolds, all eyes will be on how the courts handle the intersection of personal responsibility, financial support, and the legal rights of children born from short-term relationships.
So far, neither party has issued a public statement beyond the filed affidavits—but the drama is far from over.
