The family of 29-year-old Stephen Mbugu is grappling with unimaginable grief after his lifeless body was discovered at the City Mortuary, marking a tragic end to his disappearance.
Mbugu went missing on Saturday night, June 14, 2025, with his last known sighting around 9:30 PM in Nairobi’s Central Business District, specifically at the Tea-room area.
On the evening of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
According to sources close to the family, shortly before vanishing, Mbugua had sent his wife Ksh200 to buy supper. His phone was then switched off, adding to the immediate concern.
Following his disappearance, his family reported the case to the police and shared his photos on social media in a desperate bid to locate him. Despite their efforts and the community’s support, the search ended in heartbreak when his body was discovered at the City Mortuary a week later.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and the family is left mourning without answers.
Relatives and friends have expressed shock and sorrow, remembering Mbugu as a loving husband and a responsible family man.
