DIG 1

On Saturday afternoon, President William Ruto received a strong message from Robert Alai regarding the case involving DIG (Deputy Inspector General) Lagat. Alai stated that DIG Lagat should not be arrested or removed from his position following the murder of the activist.

In the statement, MCA explained that, based on his knowledge, DIG Lagat is innocent. He also noted that although he once reported that the activist had insulted him on social media, that does not mean he ordered the police to arrest the activist in Homa Bay County.

Robert Alai went on to urged President Ruto to wait until investigations are fully completed before making any decisions. He stated that there is no evidence yet to show DIG Lagat is connected to the death of the activist, Mr. Ojwang. Charging him now, it said, would be unfair and rushed.

MCA warned Kenyans who are accusing DIG Lagat without facts urging them to stop spreading false claims that are damaging DIG name, and reminded them that everyone deserves fair treatment and proper investigations.
