Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has broken his silence following the mysterious death of Albert Ojwang, a 31-year-old teacher from Homa Bay County. His emotional reaction and demand for swift justice have added fresh urgency to an already tense situation.

Ojwang died under suspicious circumstances after being arrested and transferred from Homa Bay to Nairobi. By the time he arrived at Central Police Station, he was reportedly bleeding and in critical condition. Shockingly, he wasn’t booked or given medical attention. Hours later, he was found dead in his cell. Authorities claimed he had taken his own life—but the family isn’t buying it.

Describing Ojwang as frail and chronically ill, relatives and witnesses have flatly rejected the official version of events. The case has sparked outrage nationwide, with many pointing fingers at police misconduct.

Sudi, visibly shaken, said as a parent, the news hit him hard. He urged security agencies to launch a transparent, independent investigation and ensure those responsible face justice. “This isn’t just about one life—it’s about the system,” he said.

He acknowledged improvements in Kenya’s justice system but warned that such incidents show serious flaws remain. “We cannot preach reform while letting this slide.”

The public is demanding answers. With pressure mounting, the Ojwang family is holding onto hope that truth—and justice—will prevail.
