Litein Boys High School is set to reopen in mid-October after weeks of closure following unrest and a fire incident. The return, however, comes with tough conditions for all students.
According to the school administration, every student must pay Ksh 137,050 before resuming classes. In addition, all outstanding fee balances must be clear d in full.
The school has also directed that each student should report back with both parents present and must bring six reams of printing paper.
The most controversial decision involves disciplinary action against students accused of orchestrating incidents that fueled he unrest.
Those linked to the bus engine theft and reported cases of cooking inside teachers’ houses will be permanently expelled. They will only be given transfer letters after paying the Ksh 137,050.
The conditions have sparked heated conversations among parents and the public. Many argue the costs are too high, while others feel the tough stance is necessary to restore discipline and order in the school.
