Youths have raised complaints about not being refunded their money by First Choice Recruitment Agencies (FCRA), a company that allegedly collected millions of money from youths to go abroad to countries like Qatar, United Kingdom, and Middle East to work.
According to recent information, the youths from Nandi revealed that they had paid 40,000 while some even paid 400,000 Ksh to the company. Details reveal that some had to sell their own assets from their previous jobs to be able to secure the job applications abroad.
The youths have decried for the company to refund them their money. The company’s director, Judy Jepchirchir, was summoned by the Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare to explain the issue before the committee recently. She, however, did not show up, claiming that she was sick and was admitted to hospital.
Judy Jepchirchir also refuted the claims, alleging that the company had paid for 427 youths who are currently working in Qatar in the Gulf.
According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), it has cautioned all the youths to be aware of companies promising them huge sums of money and asking for their credentials like identification cards and phone numbers.
