Political Commentator Professor Herman Manyora now claims that the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance is not aware of what they got themselves in to by starting the protests against President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza government.

The Azimio team led by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga called for three consecutive days of anti-government protests from yesterday, but none of the top leaders joined Kenyans in the streets.

They however addressed the media later in the day urging their supporters to turn up in large numbers for today’s demos.

According to Manyora, the opposition is not organized to keep the government on its toes, and pushing the demos might run out of control and come to haunt them later.

“I have come to realize that we have an opposition that does not understand the magnitude of what they are in. This thing can get out of hand. But more critically, how organized are you because you got yourself in a war?”

“You must fight this war in a structured way. Unfortunately I have not seen that structure in Azimio. This struggle must be well resourced and scientific,” said Manyora further dismissing allegations from the Kenya Kwanza side that the former President Uhuru Kenyatta was financing the protests.

The University of Nairobi lecturer went on to implore upon President Ruto and Raila to put the country first, climb down from their bold stands and have a dialogue.

Leaders from Kenya Kwanza camp argue that Raila is aimed at sabotaging the economy for him to get a handshake with Ruto, a recap of what happened in 2018 between him and then President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In his latest remarks in Isiolo County, Ruto dismissed any possibility of a handshake with Raila, with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua saying the Head of State is not ready to sit down with a criminal.
