The Democratic Republic of Congo has come out to accuse the republic of Rwanda and the M23 revels of violating the Addis Ababa peace agreement which was meant to help end the war currently ongoing in Congo. President Tshisekedi in a recent announcement said that Rwanda and the rebels have violated the agreement. So far the M23 rebels have withdrawn their forces from critical areas in Masisi and Rutshuru located in Eastern DRC.

“President Tshisekedi once again is pointing fingers at Rwanda & M23 Rebels by claiming they violated the Addis Ababa framework agreement. M23 has withdrawn from critical areas in Rutshuru & Masisi in Eastern DR-Congo and subsequently ceded the AOR to EACRF.” CTNSIS reported.

Today the peace process was held in Bujumbura, Burundi and attended by different leaders including the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres. Former president Uhuru Kenyatta was among those that attended the meeting. Guterres urged all African leaders to come together and help end the war in Congo.
