On Saturday, the Deputy President of Kenya, Rigathi Gachagua, issued a call to action to the former Prime Minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga, pleading with people who stole the land of Mau Mau veterans to give it back so that the veterans can have a better quality of life.

Gachagua made these remarks during the funeral of Mama Mukami Kimathi in Nyandarua County on Saturday. President Ruto and Raila were in attendance at the event. Gachagua stated that individuals who stole Mau Mau land are recognized, and it is time for them to return, even if it is only a portion of the land.

“We call upon you, former Prime Minister, to fight for the interests of Kenyans as you are doing now, and we want to hear you fighting for Mau Mau so that they can get back their land. You know who grabbed that land, and we want you to hear us fighting for Mau Mau.” Some of the folks we’ve talked to have suggested that we purchase land for Mau Mau, but the reality is that Mau Mau land already exists and is sitting empty.

The Democratic Party (DP) praised Raila’s late father for having fought for Mau Mau territory, which was a gesture that angered many in power during the colonial era, including the who’s who of the time.

“We would want to express our gratitude to your late Father Jaramogi Oginga. According to Gachagua, “He spoke during the time when land belonging to the Mau Mau was seized and given to home guards.”

A few days ago, Gachagua engaged in a battle with the former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta. He demanded that she grant Mau Mau and their children ownership of the land they had been living on thank you for reading kindly click and follow.
