East African community is mourning the passing on of the fifth president of Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli.
He died of a heart condition and his death was announced on Wednesday night by Samia Hassan Suluhu the Vice-President of Tanzania.

Magufuli was first hospitalised on March 6, 2020, then discharged on 7, and on 14 his condition worsened and was rushed back to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
He has left behind one wife and five children.
Tanzania has declared 14 days of national mourning and Kenya will observe seven days of mourning.
Well, Kenyans have mourned with Tanzania, eulogising Magufui as a great leader and investigative journalist Dennis Okari, shared a moving tribute, which read,
‘HIS ZEALOUS PURSUIT OF ACCOUNTABILITY IN A REFORMIST GOVERNMENT WON HIM, BUT THE DENIAL OF COVID19 IS MOST PROBABLY THE SADDEST ENDING TO A LEGACY RIDDLED WITH THE MENTIONABLES AND THE UNMENTIONABLES. YOTE NI VANITY.’
