Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, has expressed deep frustration following a shocking incident where Nairobi County enforcement officers, commonly known as “Kanjo,” allegedly abducted a child.

Taking to his official X handle, Babu Owino posted a video of the incident, captioning it with disbelief:

“Yaani tumefika hapa kama Nairobians? Hata watoto wa watu wanakuwa abducted na Kanjo!! A City of disorder.”

The undated video shows a distressed mother screaming helplessly as her child is locked inside a Kanjo vehicle, along with her stock of goods. A large crowd quickly gathers, demanding the immediate release of the child.

The officers are eventually forced to open the vehicle’s door and remove the child, but the video ends abruptly, leaving it unclear whether the child was returned to their mother.

It is still unknown why the child was inside the Kanjo vehicle in the first place. However, the video has sparked outrage, with many questioning the conduct of Nairobi’s enforcement officers.

This incident comes at a time when reports of abductions and forced disappearances have been increasing across the country. Babu Owino’s reaction reflects growing concerns among Nairobi residents about safety and the actions of city authorities.

Many are calling for accountability and demanding answers from the Nairobi County government as the video continues to circulate online.
