Eric Amunga, popularly known as Amerix, is a Kenyan reproductive medicine specialist, fat loss coach, Drama coach and a masculinity coach.
He frequently uses his X platform to promote the popular class during the weekends what he calls the “#MasculinitySaturday” where he shares his views on manhood, discipline, fitness, financial independence, and personal responsibility.
Being one of the most influential Kenyan on X, Amerix has gained both a loyal following and criticism for his sometimes unique opinions, particularly on relationships, gender roles, and lifestyle choices.
Of late the masculinity coach has faced a backlash from an international TV station where a short documentary was posted on YouTube making claims that he is a misogynists.
Main claims comes with Amerix being accused of always favoring men and spreading hate speech towards women.
While his supporters appreciate his emphasis on discipline and self-reliance, others find his views too rigid or traditionalist.
Most of his loyal followers and also patriotic citizens showed love and support by brushing off the horrific claims posted the international TV station.
Here are some of the comments from the video:
@trnblounge: As a woman, this is such a misinterpreted documentary. Amerix teaches men how to groom themselves, acquire new skills, be fit, buy land, be a good father and being a responsible man . I don’t know about other women but I definitely want that kind of man!!!!!
@stephenmogusu9991: Why is there so much backlash against Amerix? He consistently advises men to avoid masturbation, drugs, and simping—encouraging them to invest, eat healthy, and focus on their goals. These are constructive, positive messages. Yet, some people are acting as if they’re being personally attacked. This isn’t about threat, it’s about accountability. Why are they so uncomfortable with men being empowered and striving for better?
@tedfilmsafrica: To me, this is being biased on the real issues that are affecting the society. I have watched every bit of the documentary and you have not captured the real issue behind AMERIX and Masculinity Saturday. You have handpicked “clients” based on your intended message. I have seen Amerix post a couple of times, telling men if a woman annoys them, they should ignore and walk away until the situation cools.
