The appointments committee in the national assembly rejected the nomination of Stella Soi as the Gender and Culture Cabinet Secretary.
Speaking during a debate session on the approved cabinet secretaries, national assembly majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah stated that the Gender CS nominee was not suitable for the position.

He said that the CS nominee did not demonstrate ability to understand the Gender and Culture docket despite being a career civil servant.
“Stella Soi Langat is a career civil servant who has extensive experience in public service but did not demonstrate an adequate understanding of the Gender docket to which she has been nominated and the committee saw her unsuitable for appointment to that docket,” Kimani Ichung’wa stated on thr floor of parliament.
The Kikuyu constituency MP further added that Stella Soi had no adequate knowledge of topical issues about the ministry.
“The nominee failed to demonstrate adequate knowledge of topical, administrative and technical issues touching on the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage to which she has been nominated,’ he added.
A woman by the name Doreen Majala has urged the concerned parties to consider her since she is qualified for the gender CS docket and has an undergraduate degree and masters degree in law.
“To whom it may concern, I hereby express my interest for the position of CS, Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage. I have an LL.B.(Hons), MBA(StMg) and Candidate LL.M.,(Int’l Law). I have no Godfather nor Handout but CV, Experience and Merit. I’m a cousin to Gen Z. Sincerely,” she stated on X.
