An anonymous woman has expressed the frustrations she faces in her six-month marriage. In her post, she explains how she does almost everything at home, cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, and even tending to the garden, while her husband just watches.
She says that her husband stands by as she cooks, making sure the ugali is perfect or that the vegetables are washed several times. If she is washing clothes, he checks every item carefully, wanting everything to be spotless, even inspecting the towels to make sure they shine.
Simple tasks like laundry also take extra time because he insists on doing things his way. For example, he expects her to scrub the towels by hand with a bar soap not to use a brush. When it comes to cooking, meals need to be cooked for hours, and if she tries to finish them earlier, he tells her to let them simmer longer.
Her husband’s way of doing things is extremely detailed and time-consuming. Even cooking a meal, like making tea or stew, takes longer than it should because he insists on doing everything “just right.” Despite all this, he never helps with any of the chores. He stays at home, enjoying his financial stability, while she is left to do everything. She feels alone in this marriage, wondering if she should continue putting up with this behavior just because he provides financially.
