Mathioya member of parliament, Edwin Mugo, joined his counterpart from Kiharu constituency in launching the upgrading of the Mugeka-Kiriaini road. The event took place on Thursday 29th at Kiriaini market.
During the event, Mugo paused a question to the crowd seeking to know if the president still had influence on the ground. The MP went to an extent of wanting to know if the people of Mathioya are ready to re-elect Ruto in 2027.
“Do you love president Ruto?” Paused Hon Mugo as the crowd responded in affirmation. “Will you vote him again in 2027?” Asked the lawmaker. (Watch video from 40 min).
In response, the residents said that they still love the president and they are ready to elect him again in 2027.
Hon Edwin Mugo thanked the locals for voting Ruto and the entire Kenya Kwanza leadership in the 2022 general election. He promised that the government will deliver for them and fulfill the promises.
This came as inflation and the high cost of living continue to bite many Kenyans. There have been debate that the high cost of living might have affected president Ruto’s popularity in areas that voted for him in the last election.
