Donald B Kipkorir has gone ahead and said, H.E. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, SC, has been granted a unique chance by history to present an alternative vision for Kenya, distinct from the UDA-ODM one.
Kalonzo has been given the opportunity by Providence to rise up and demonstrate that he can unite the country despite differences in age, gender, ethnicity, and tribe. Will Kalonzo accept this ONE-TIME duty or refuse it? History will render its judgment.
Kalonzo Musyoka is that uncle, ever being pushed to get married & stop idling at the shopping centre for years on end.
Kalonzo always needs alliances & allies where he can hide within political cracks and wait whichever way the winds of fortune blows.
Which law did he practice and what are his business ventures? He never seems to have financial muscle. Or loaded friends. Just why he hangs around Gideon Moi’s coattails: Kalonzo needs the Moi money and political connections!
Kalonzo is no longer the kingpin of the Kamba Nation…and thus has a dicey political power base for bargaining chip!
This is the point where ‘fortuna’, as explained by former Florentine polymath Niccolo Machiavelli comes to us. Machiavelli says everyone is subject to the whims of luck to some extent. It’s at this point that Kalonzo can use to express his ‘virtu’.
Remember 2007 when he sneaked in kati kati and joined Kibaki amid post-election violence? Remember why he acquired the ‘watermelon’ moniker? Unless he suddenly recovered from his treacherous streak, Kalonzo will always disappoint.
Kalonzo musyoka should leverage the youths to build a thriving political movement, with a foundation on capacity building. To take charge of their political affairs through movement building, and knowledge generation and dissemination to ouster ethnic based poltics!
This could easily be the case today had he not joined Kibaki’s side at the height of post election violence in 2007/08. He got in to stabilize the country, a move that’s replica to what Rt Hon Raila has done a couple of times,1997,2018,at a huge cost and now 2024.
Kalonzo has the ability to lead this nation. Kenya went for a hardliner and now see where we’re. Being tough does not augur well with democracy. Let us choose down to earth leader.
Kalonzo has been the right candidate for very long time.Only that he allows himself to be overwhelmed by deceit party’s reckless & territory marking propaganda. Ruto once he assumed office, asked Kalonzo to join his govt. The Wiper party leader refused. That’s being ignored now.
